PHOENIX, AZ — A very upset Kurt Warner contacted SSNN late Friday to inform the staff of a critical error in a story published Friday.

SSNN published a story Friday that announced Warner’s intention to make $500 charitable donations in the names of several teammates as a “thank you” for helping him make the Pro Bowl. However, SSNN has learned that it may have prematurely published the story.

“Yes, it’s true, I phoned SSNN,” Warner said. “And I informed them that their story was wrong and that they have done a grave disservice to a lot of people by telling them that I was donating $500 per player this year. Because, as usual, SSNN rushed to judgment without the facts. And so they published an erroneous story, since I made no such commitment. Instead, I committed only to pay $50 a year per player over the next ten years.”

Warner said that he is not an SSNN reader but that a friend told him about the piece.

“SSNN better hope that the orphanage in Manilla has not made promises based on the $500,” Warner said. “Otherwise SSNN is going to have heck to pay, I will tell you that.”

SSNN officials were deeply apologetic.

“We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused the good folks at Christ the Quarterback orphanage any inconvenience whatsoever,” SSNN wrote in a statement. “We commend Warner on his tremendous — and consistent — generosity.”

Warner, however, was not accepting of the apology.

“I am not the type to get punched on one side of the face, and then stand there and be like, ‘Hey, dude, punch me on the other side of the face,’” Warner said. ” Only a sap would do that, right?”
