Lions thinking about drafting a receiver with the first pick in the draft
DETROIT, MI — The Detroit Lions have announced that they are seriously considering taking Texas Tech WR Michael Crabtree with the first pick in the NFL draft, said General Manager Martin Mayhew. “Not everything Matt Millen did was bad,” Mayhew said. “We are thinking of keeping the philosophy of only drafting wide receivers in the first round.” Mayhew said that people had come to know the Lions for that, and it was a good form of branding. “Every year there was all this buzz, about ‘Are they going to take a wide receiver in the first round?
