Lions sign Fox NFL Robot to shore up defense
DETROIT — In a desperate attempt to shore up their ailing defense, the Detroit Lions have signed the FOX NFL Robot to play outside linebacker. “He’s pretty consistent,” said WR Calvin Johnson. “Dude’s like a machine.” The Lions have been plagued by an inconsistent defensive effort and unpopular defensive players. “The Fox NFL Robot answers both of our needs,” said QB Jon Kitna. “He’s consistent, and he’s freakin’ cool. I mean, he’s all sleek and shiny and lubricated. Those are not words people usually use to describe the Lions.” The Lions put the Fox NFL Robot on a five-year contract, but neglected to purchase the accompanying warranty option. “We figured we could save a little cash,” said a Lions official. “What’s the fun in knowing your interests are protected?”
