Petulant Favre writes his name on all of his groceries in family fridge

NEW YORK, NY — Brett Favre, Super Bowl winning quarterback and future Hall of Famer, has always been known for having the heart of a champion. Now, however, he’s increasingly being called out for petty and petulant behavior, with two shocking examples coming to light this weekend.

On the heels of reports that Favre called the Detroit Lions and fed their coaches information about the Packers’ offense before a recent game, the new New York Jets quarterback is also under fire from his family members.

According to reports, an anonymous source within the Favre household indicates that Brett Favre behaves like a 19-year-old sorority girl in his first apartment.

“Dad is really sort of like a baby around the house,” said the source, who asked not to be named. “For example, every time we go shopping, he takes all of ‘his’ groceries and he writes his name on them, so we know not to eat them. It’s kind of weird, because generally we like to share groceries, being a family and all. But he is very insistent. One time, Mom ate one of his protein bars, and I thought he was going to divorce her.”

Favre is also very passive-aggressive within the household, often leaving anonymous notes in the house directed at other members of the family.

“Would the person(s) who tracked mud all over the rumpus room please be more rispectful (sic) in the future?” asked a recent note that was posted on the sink in the master bathroom.

Deanna Favre said that her husband is under a lot of pressure and should be cut a break here and there.

“So what if he’s a little bit backwards in the way he deals with interpersonal relationships and household problems,” Deanna Favre said. “He’s a great quarterback on the field. Is part of a quarterback’s job being able to be a strong, assertive, calming presence on a group of people? Is part of a quarterback’s job being able to confront conflict and rationally steer an entity through it? Is part of a quarterback’s job to be deemed as a fair and reasonable individual?

“I didn’t think so. So lay off.”

It’s going to be tough for this sport to sweep any nations, but it’s still pretty frickin’ cool!
