Pierce injures leg, unable to take out garbage

BOSTON, MA — While Boston fans were celebrating their 17^th NBA championship on Tuesday night, one of the key cogs from their latest championship squad was suffering déjà vu.

Mere hours after the Celtics 131-92 series clinching victory over the Los Angeles Lakers, Finals MVP Paul Pierce re-injured the very same leg he hurt during the first game of the series.

“Julie [Pierce's fiancée] told me to take out the garbage, and as I was getting off the couch I heard something snap,” Pierce told SSNN. “I was scared man – it was the same sound I heard in Game 1. I had to get KG and Ray to come over and carry me up to the bedroom. Fortunately, Julie was able to take the garbage out herself.”

Pierce would not give any details on the injury, and though both Garnett and Allen said they could see the pain on his face, others have their doubts.

“Part of me doubts the legitimacy of his ‘injury’,” Julie admitted. “His bum leg certainly didn’t stop him from asking for sex that night, and the next morning I caught him playing the Wii Fit as if nothing was wrong.”

The Celtics forward was quick to defend himself, pointing out that his specific injury causes an intense and debilitating pain for a very short amount of time, but that it magically goes away soon after.

Julie, apparently unimpressed by her fiancee’s explanation, said that two can play that game. “We’ll see what happens when I get a hand cramp and I can’t cook Paul’s dinner. Or maybe tomorrow night my back will be a little sore, if you know what I’m saying.”

It’s going to be tough for this sport to sweep any nations, but it’s still pretty frickin’ cool!
