Giambi also enjoys wearing bra, high heels

NEW YORK, NY — New York Yankees first baseman and designated hitter Jason Giambi caused quite a ruckus when he revealed that he wears a gold thong to help him break out of slumps.

Now, though, an SSNN investigation has revealed that the gold thong is not the only unusual item stored in Giambi’s closet. When the slugger starts struggling at the plate, he turns to a plethora of garments normally reserved for the opposite sex, even using different clothes for different types of problems.

When he isn’t getting the power he wants, Giambi puts on one of his seven silk bras, color-coded by the day of the week. Monday through Friday are all solid colors, while flower prints are reserved for weekend contests.

If he is not seeing the ball well, or failing to make consistent contact, Giambi dons a pair of high heels in the clubhouse before the game. Again, he has different styles and colors for different days of the week, but reserves stiletto heels for Friday and Saturday night games.

Giambi’s Yankee teammates seem to embrace his oddities.

“No, it doesn’t bother me,” said outfielder Johnny Damon. “It’s funny to see that big of a guy squish his feet in little pairs of high heel shoes.”

Damon had his own quirks when with the Boston Red Sox – such as doing naked pull-ups in the clubhouse – but he stopped when he came over to the Yankees as a free agent. “I’m trying to behave like an adult male these days, so it’s nice to have a different guy do these things to lighten the mood for us.”

Also supportive is Hank Steinbrenner, now the public face of Yankees ownership as his father George has pulled back from the public spotlight. “I really don’t give a crap about that stuff. He can wear his hair in damn pigtails if he wants, as long as he helps us beat the freakin’ Red Sox. Hell, I’d wear high heels if I thought it would get us back over .500. But it won’t, obviously. Seriously, don’t even try to get me into women’s clothing or I’ll kill you.”

It’s going to be tough for this sport to sweep any nations, but it’s still pretty frickin’ cool!
