Big Brown getting cocky, making enemies

ELMONT, NY — Despite being on the verge of becoming the first Triple Crown winner in 30 years, Big Brown is not making any friends with less than two weeks to go before what could be an historic Belmont Stakes.

An anonymous source close to the horse confirmed what some would describe as unsavory behavior.

“It’s disgusting – [Big Brown] has been mounting every woman in sight, equine or human, and having his way with her,” the source said. “It’s like he turned into an NBA player overnight.”

There have been many rumors over the past week about Big Brown staying out late and drinking excessively. He has also been seen with a new group of friends, angering some of his longtime associates.

Belmont Stakes competitor and former Big Brown confidant Denis of Cork said he noticed a change in Big Brown after the Kentucky Derby.

“All the guys knew he and Eight Belles were together, even if they didn’t talk about it,” Denis said. “I know he didn’t show it, but her death really hurt him. Strangely, it seems to have brought out his dark side.”

Big Brown refused all of SSNN’s interview requests, saying through his spokesman that he would talk to the media “after my inevitable victory.”

The source close to Big Brown just wanted the thoroughbred to know that his friends still care about him, and that they understand why he’s lashing out.

“This is a tough time for him, and unfortunately he’s being forced to mature in a very public setting,” the source said. “All his family and friends, we’ve been talking about it a lot. And we just want to say to him, ‘We love you – and all the money you’re making us – unconditionally.’ And that will never change, no matter how many mares or Mary’s he impregnates.”

It’s going to be tough for this sport to sweep any nations, but it’s still pretty frickin’ cool!
