Pacman Jones to sponsor Make It Rain Pennies for the Homeless Day

NASHVILLE, TN — It is no secret that suspended Tennessee Titans cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones yearns to be reinstated to the NFL. After a lengthy suspension handed down by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell for numerous off-field transgressions, Jones has been doing his best to convince the commissioner that he is a reformed man, whose troubles are in his past.

Jones has a long history of poor behavior, including numerous arrests and an incident at a strip club that left one man paralyzed. Goodell made it clear to Jones that if he ever wants to play in the NFL again, he needs to prove he is a changed man through his actions, not just his words.

SSNN has learned that one of the things Jones will do to further cleanse his image is sponsor a charity event called “Make It Rain Pennies for the Homeless Day.” Jones says he came up with the idea for the celebration – tentatively scheduled for May 31 – last month after exiting the Wet Kitty strip club late one night.

“Walking back to my car, I looked down, and there’s this homeless cat – just lying there in the middle of the sidewalk. If I hadn’t seen him, I might’ve tripped over him, and possibly suffered a serious knee injury,” Jones explained. “Considering I’m going to be back in the NFL soon, that would’ve been a tragedy. So I thought to myself, ‘What can I do about this?’ That’s when I got the idea – a way that I can do my part to make sure people don’t trip over the homeless.”

For the uninitiated, “making it rain” is a term used most often in strip clubs, when men throw large wads of money up in the air toward the strippers. Jones says the idea is to do the same for the homeless.

“Basically, when you see a homeless guy, just throw some pennies at him – or not really at him, but up in the air so they rain down on him… or her. And the best part is, anyone can get involved – just make sure you have a couple rolls of pennies handy on May 31.”
