Brady tired of beating Mannings

GLENDALE, AZ — Tom Brady, usually unflappable leading up to important games, has shown uncharacteristic sensitivity to a number of issues as Super Bowl XLII approaches. In addition to admitting that he feels more pressure to win this super bowl than ever before, the Patriots QB expressed frustration about being forced to play the Manning brothers repeatedly.

“I’m not trying to take anything away from the Giants here,” Brady explained to SSNN. “They’ve got a great little streak going, and it’s really cute that they made it here and everything. It’s just— I mean, how many times do I have to beat Eli and Peyton? It’s getting old. In all honesty, I was looking forward to running roughshod over Brett Favre. Sure, he’s old, but at least he’s not ANOTHER Manning brother.”

In his career, Brady is 8-3 (including the playoffs) against the two Manning brothers, with the only matchup against Eli coming in the Patriots Week 17 victory this season.

“It’s true I’ve only played Eli the one time,” Brady said. “But it seemed an awful lot like playing Peyton – he was pretty good, but I beat his ass. Doesn’t everyone basically know how this is going to end? At the end of the day, I own the Mannings – it could be Archie throwing to Cooper, it doesn’t matter. I’m just sick of the same old tired family trotting out to get whooped by me.”

Eli Manning was not made available to the media to respond to Brady’s comments, but Peyton was more than happy to speak out on behalf of the Manning family.

“As I recall, the last time I played Brady in the playoffs, I won,” Peyton pointed out. “He needs to remember that the Manning family is still technically in possession of the current Super Bowl title.”

But such technicalities are apparently of little concern to the confident Brady – “Even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes, guys. I hope Peyton, Eli, Archie and the rest of them all enjoy that one ring, because I could run out of fingers and I’m still not gonna let those damn Mannings have another one. I’d rather see the Hasselbecks win.”
