Citing a tremendous desire to fulfill his fantasy basketball duties, Jamario Moon has withdrawn from the forthcoming NBA All-Star weekend slam dunk contest.

“I need to focus on my real obligations,” Moon said. “Personal performance and accolades are not my obkective. My objective is performing properly for the millions (okay, hundreds) of fantasy basketball players out there.”

Moon, who has captured the attention of the nation, coming from the Gary Steelheads to snag a position with the Toronto Raptors and then electrify the fantasy basketball world with his multi-faceted play.

“This has been my dream, forever,” Moon said. “It was never my dream to just make it to the NBA. And it was never my dream to participate in the Slam Dunk Contest. Oh no. It was my dream to be well rounded fantasy basketball player … and that’s what I’ve become. Why am I going to jeopardize all that? For a national spotlight? For the chance at endorsements and individual fame? For an opportunity to solidify my status in the NBA? I may be new to the league, but I’m not an idiot.”

Moon indicated that, instead of going to New Orleans to participate in the All-Star facilities, he’ll be sitting at home, reading Rotoworld and focusing on reacting to the comments made about his performance on that site’s daily updates.

“There is a lot I need to learn about being a good fantasy basketball player,” Moon said. “The rest will prolly just fall into place.”
