FROM THE ARCHIVES: Real-life Patriots outperform Bill Simmons-led Video Game Patriots

NEW YORK, NY — The New England Patriots, in their 38-14 drubbing of the New York Jets, far exceeded the accomplishments of the Bill Simmons-led Madden 2007 Patriots, who eked out a 28-21 victory over the aforementioned opponent on Sunday morning. Simmons was able to get a key interception as the Jets were driving to tie in the fourth quarter, preserving his victory. Video Game Randy Moss caught five passes for 144 yards and one touchdown in Simmons’ win, and Tom Brady threw for 227 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions behind Simmons’ controls. Simmons declined comment after seeing that real-life Moss had nine catches for 183 yards and a TD, while real-life Brady threw for 297 yards, three touchdowns, and no picks. Brady was philosophical when presented with the results. “Hey, in essence, we’re 2-0,” he said. “Right?”
