MILWAUKEE, WI — Under direct orders from MLB Commissioner Bud Selig, the results of the George Mitchell probe investigating the alleged use of steroids in baseball should arrive just in time for the holidays. “The results weren’t supposed to be released until February,” a prominent MLB owner told SSNN. “They’re not even really done with the investigation yet, but Selig wanted to make sure it came out at the worst possible time; just to embarrass everyone involved. That’s Bud for you.” While some believe Selig urged the release of the report for the good of baseball, others feel it was a way for the controversial Commissioner to ruin the holidays for everyone. “Bud Selig wants nothing more than to have every baseball player wake up on Christmas Day with a fine and suspension under the tree,” Cardinals shortstop David Eckstein said. “He can’t wait to see the looks on their faces. I don’t know how he sleeps at night.”
