LOS ANGELES, CA — The Los Angeles Lakers found themselves on the receiving end of a Christmas miracle earlier this week when they pulled out a victory over the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night.
But that wasn’t how things were supposed to go down at the Staples Center, as SSNN has learned that Santa Claus delivered the victory to the Lakers by mistake. Tuesday’s win was supposed to go to the Suns, but jolly old St. Nick misread the tag and gave it to Kobe and friends instead.
“Wow, I made a ho-ho-horrible mistake this year!” Claus told SSNN when reached for comment. “Steve Nash made the good list this year, and the victory was supposed to go to him… But I made a boo-boo.”
“I’m one of the least-penalized players in the league, I don’t have some nutty entourage, our team is clicking on all cylinders, I haven’t been arrested – I don’t know what else I need to do here,” said a frustrated Nash after the loss. ” I think it’s because I’m Canadian. I mean, I just want what’s mine, you know? I just want Santa to give me a fair shake.”
“Well, little Stevie better watch out, and he better not cry over what was a simple mistake, or he may end up on the other list with that Vick character,” Santa said, as he climbed into his sleigh.
And we heard him exclaim as he rode out of sight, “Merry Christmas to all, and hey – my bad!”

It’s going to be tough for this sport to sweep any nations, but it’s still pretty frickin’ cool!
