Holtz “virtually unharmed” after motorcycle accident

BRISTOL, CT — College football coaching legend Lou Holtz walked away from a terrifying motorcycle accident Saturday night, thanks in large part to his protective leather skin. The current ESPN analyst was thrown from his 2006 Honda CBR 1000 after swerving in an attempt to avoid a deer crossing an icy highway. Holtz was airlifted to Gerald County Hospital and underwent a battery of tests before being released only hours after the crash occurred. Hospital officials were left scratching their heads after failing to penetrate his “cowhide-like exterior” with even the sharpest of instruments. “It’s pretty incredible – he was virtually unharmed. Mr. Holtz only asked that we add a layer of water-proofing before releasing him with a clean bill of health,” hospital spokesman Jerry Rufino said. “Naturally, we were happy to oblige. There’s a Home Depot just down the street, so we had him out the door in just about two-and-a-half hours.”
