MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Devin Hester’s amazing career continued Monday night, as he destroyed another record. Hester is now the all-time NFL record holder for “most graphics devoted to a return man in a single game.”

“I didn’t realize it at the time, because I was in the game and all but this is really an amazing honor,” Hester said. “I would especially like to thank ESPN, Deion Sanders, and God for making this possible.”

Hester’s record night began with a simple graphic about how many return touchdowns he has had in his career, and progressed into avant garde expressions of adulation, such as “How Devin Hester orders Chinese food” (family-style) and “Which puppies Devin Hester likes” (poodles and labs).

All told, Hester had 21 graphics in the game, which the Bears lost 20-13 to the Minnesota Vikings. He eclipsed the previous mark of two PR/KR graphics, shared by Brian Mitchell and Vai Sikahema. Hester’s mark was still 33 graphics short of the overall record, set simultaneously by Tom Brady and Peyton Manning in the Colts-Patriots matchup on Nov. 4, when a graphic featuring both of their stats appearing late in the fourth quarter was the 54th for both QBs.
