Bonds furious over attention paid to McGwire and Sosa after release of Mitchell Report

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Despite the widespread media attention he has received as a result of the federal investigation into his relationship with BALCO, Barry Bonds was livid Thursday when the Mitchell Report on steroids was released and contained very few mentions of Bonds, and virtually no new information on the disputed Home Run King. “It’s just infuriating that guys like Mark McGwire and Paul LoDuca are getting all the pub now,” Bonds complained to SSNN. ” I’m going to trial for perjury, God damn it! Sosa’s getting more press for NOT being in the stupid report than I am right now.” Bonds suggested that there is more than enough previously unreleased information about his steroid use for Senator Mitchell to have made him more of a focus of his report. He declined to directly speculate on why he was not more prominently featured, but did indicate that he’s willing to do whatever it takes to get himself more attention on the subject of PEDs. “Just tell me what I have to do, George. You want to talk to Greg Anderson? I can make that happen. You want a signed copy of Game of Shadows? Fine, no problem. It’s just criminal that McGwire and Sosa always get all the credit when I’m clearly superior to them in every way.”
