A-Rod, Boras agree to couple’s therapy

NEW YORK, NY — A spokesperson for uber-agent Scott Boras has revealed that Boras and former client Alex Rodriguez have agreed to attend couple’s therapy in hopes of rekindling their relationship.

“Scott cares very deeply for Alex, and I think Mr. Rodriguez feels the same,” Maggie Cohn, a spokesperson for Boras, told SSNN. “Mr. Boras and Mr. Rodriguez have a long and successful relationship – but like any couple, they are going to go through some ups and downs. Hopefully, couple’s therapy will bring these two back together.”

Rodriguez told 60 Minutes last week that he and longtime agent Boras are not speaking, after the slugger negotiated and signed a record contract with the Yankees on his own. Friends of Rodriguez told SSNN that A-Rod was devastated by the disconnect.

“I’ve never seen Alex like this,” childhood friend Robert Hernandez said. “Since stepping away from Scott, he has lost ten pounds and hasn’t slept in a week. Hopefully the therapy will get them back on track.”

Boras has represented the reigning MVP since discovering the teenage Rodriguez nearly two decades ago. While he is optimistic about couple’s therapy, Cohn said Boras knows his relationship with Rodriguez can’t be fixed over night.

“Scott and Alex are just going to take this one day at a time.”

It’s going to be tough for this sport to sweep any nations, but it’s still pretty frickin’ cool!
