LOS ANGELES, CA — New reports out of Los Angeles suggest that Kobe Bryant and the Lakers are one step closer to reaching a compromise in the unhappy star’s trade demands. On Friday, team sources said that Kobe has agreed to stay in Los Angeles if all his teammates are traded for better ones. “I want to stay in L.A.,” forward Luke Walton told SSNN. “But Kobe’s the man here and at the end of the day, it’s a business.” Unsatisfied with the development of young stars like Andrew Bynum and Jordan Farmar, Bryant feels his last chance at happiness in the City of Angels is if everyone is traded. “Are you serious?
I just bought a house in Hermosa,” rookie Javaris Crittenton grumbled. The Lakers front office spent much of the day fielding offers for various players. GM Mitch Kupchak was optimistic about the Lakers landing some players Kobe would be happy with.
“We’re really hoping to find a big man who can score, rebound and block shots. Like what Andrew Bynum does, but more Kobe friendly.”
