Arenas beats whiny guy from Stand By Me for best celebrity blog

LAS VEGAS, NV — This week, NBA star Gilbert Arenas narrowly defeated Wil Wheaton for the “Best Celebrity Blog” at the 2007 Weblog Awards. “I have no idea who that cat is,” Arenas (who was unable to attend the ceremony due to his current NBA schedule) told SSNN after being notified of his victory. “Is that the fat kid that knocks boots with Rebecca Romijn or the one that OD’d outside the Viper Room?” Showcased on NBA.com, the “Agent Zero Blog File” was the brainchild of NBA Commissioner David Stern. “We’re ecstatic for Gilbert’s big win,” Stern told reporters outside his office. “We originally planned a blog for Shane Battier, but surveys showed that his wit and intellect went a bit over the heads of the typical NBA fan. With Gilbert, we found a happy medium.” Second place finisher Wil Wheaton was disappointed in the loss, but happy for his strong finish. “I’m glad for Gil. I know he’s a big fan of mine, and I read his blog a lot. The guy is good,” Wheaton said. “I was hoping I could score some tickets out of this, but he hasn’t returned any of my calls. Will you tell him to call me?”
