Sources: Barber complained about Lauer’s hazing

NEW YORK, NY — Sources on the NBC morning program The Today Show have disclosed a hazing scandal involving host Matt Lauer and former New York Giants running back/Today Show correspondent, Tiki Barber.

“Matt’s really hard on the rookies,” said Today Show cameraman, Jeremy Roberts. “You’d think maybe he would take it easy on Tiki since he’s a big guy, but Matt has no qualms about letting Tiki know who the big dog is around here. It’s a really primal male thing with Matt – he feels the need to establish dominance.”

While Barber declined to speak with SSNN regarding the allegations, multiple sources have confirmed that Barber has filed a complaint with NBC Executives after being on the receiving end of both physical and mental hazing from Matt Lauer.

“Tiki was talking to Meredith [Vieira] one morning and Matt came up behind him and just slapped the hell out of his face, screaming ‘Where’s my latte, fish?’” Roberts told SSNN. “I think it’s really becoming a problem. I mean, I don’t really understand why Tiki doesn’t just whoop his ass – but I guess he’s always been a little soft.”

Lauer denied physically assaulting Barber but did say that, “Tiki needs to learn how dues are paid. I’m not going to let some rookie walk in to my house and act like he owns the place. This is the way Katie Couric broke me in, and Tiki will probably do the same when he’s a veteran.”

It’s going to be tough for this sport to sweep any nations, but it’s still pretty frickin’ cool!
