Phoenix man happy to have favorite network back

PHOENIX, AZ — Phoenix resident Matt Rhodes, 48, was distraught when he came home from work earlier this October and turned on the television. His wife Janet said she “hadn’t heard him use language like that since he found out ‘Perfect Strangers’ got cancelled.”

“You know, coming home and watching his favorite TBS re-runs is what gets Matt through the day,” Jenny told SSNN.

Matt Rhodes and millions of other Americans were crushed when they discovered that instead of its regular programming, TBS was airing the first two rounds of the Major League Baseball playoffs. But Rhodes and others like him can rest easy now, because the remaining ALCS games and the World Series will air on Fox.

Rhodes could barely contain his excitement: “Oh, it’s huge. I’ve been dying to get TBS’ regularly scheduled shows back again. I mean, come on – this network gives me re-runs of the ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ and ‘Sex and the City.’ Sign me up!”

Rhodes said he was especially happy to have “Everybody Loves Raymond” returning to his favorite TV channel. He told SSNN he was not sure he wanted to live in a world where watching the show 10 to 15 times a day was not a realistic possibility.

Though he knew there was an area team playing in this year’s playoffs, Rhodes said he didn’t realize it was the Diamondbacks. And even if he had known, baseball simply does not compare to his favorite show.

“I guess baseball is okay. I’m sure some people are into it,” Rhodes said. “But I’d much rather watch a show that spent 10 years exploring one fantastic joke – Ray Romano is a bad husband. Sorry baseball, but that’s entertaining.”
