COLUMBUS, OH — Ohio state head coach Jim Tressel is very excited about the possibility of his Buckeyes winning the Big Ten and finishing the regular season undefeated. “I think it’s every coach’s goal to lead a team through an undefeated season. We did it last year and, God willing, I think we might pull it off again this year.” Sophomore running back Chris Wells echoed his coach’s remarks: “We were really good last year. I think we’re really good this year too.” When asked if the 41-14 loss to Florida in last year’s National Championship game put a damper on his enthusiasm about winning the Big Ten last year, Wells told reporters: “Sometimes people put too much emphasis on just one game. Sure we got beat pretty bad by [Florida], but we also won some big games. You know we beat Northern Illinois 35-12 and we beat Indiana by forty-one points last year, but all you guys want to talk about is that Florida game. Frankly I’m kind of tired of it.” When asked a similar question, Coach Tressel supported his star tailback’s opinions: “I look back at the way we manhandled Northwestern last year (54-10) and I think people sometimes forget just how good we were. I don’t know how people could possibly think we don’t deserve to be ranked number one right now. We played Northwestern three weeks ago and we beat them by fifty-one points. Fifty-one! That’s means we’re a touchdown better than we were last year – at least.”

It’s going to be tough for this sport to sweep any nations, but it’s still pretty frickin’ cool!
