NASCAR driver: Valtrex sponsorship “killing my game”

ATLANTA, GA — Rookie NASCAR driver Paul Menard may be searching for a new sponsor next year. The 27-year-old Menard, considered to be one of NASCAR’s up and coming stars, is unhappy with the stigma that keeps showing up as a result of his car sponsor, Valtrex, a popular drug used to treat the sexually transmitted disease, herpes. “It’s absolutely killing my game,” Menard said. “I don’t want to sound like a dog or anything, but the ladies love race car drivers. You know what they don’t love? Herpes.” Menard has struggled to find dates since picking up Valtrex as his sponsor last July. “I was doing better when I was racing on dirt tracks on the junior circuit. Just last week, I was about to seal the deal with these two blondes from South Carolina. They were all over my junk when they found out I was a driver, but when I told them I was sponsored by Valtrex, they took off like I had the plague.” Menard’s contract with Valtrex lasts for another six months, leaving the rookie driver with few options. “I’ll drive the Tampax car, I don’t care. Hell, give me the Viagra car. Anything is better than this. It’s like a bad nightmare that never goes away.”
