Third person now believes Mario Williams was right pick

HOUSTON, TX — On Sunday, Houston resident and self-described “D-line Junkie” Hector Nunez became the third person to declare that he feels Mario Williams was the right first overall pick for the Texans to have made in the 2006 NFL Draft, over more popular choices Reggie Bush and Vince Young.

Nunez made the declaration one minute into the third quarter of Sunday’s 20-3 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, when Williams scooped up a fumble and rolled 38 yards for a touchdown.

“That was the right pick, baby!” Nunez was spotted yelling at friends and mildly embarrassed innocent bystanders. “Vince who?! Reggie who?!”

Nunez joined former Texans GM Charlie Casserly and Williams’ mother Mary as the three people to publicly back the selection of Williams as the correct pick. Mario Williams has been debating becoming the fourth person to support the selection, but no announcement is forthcoming.

According to an anonymous source who witnessed the scene, Nunez gave out “dozens” of high fives and hand pounds after Williams’ first sack in the contest, and was seen hugging a complete stranger following Williams’ second sack.

“They’re crying in New Orleans and Tennessee today,” he declared. “I would not want to trade places with them.”
