NFL rejects Chris Brown’s application to have Pro Bowl on Sept. 16
NEW YORK, NY — Tennessee Titans running back Chris Brown received some bad news from NFL commissioner Roger Goodell Wednesday, when he was informed that the league has rejected his petition to move the Pro Bowl up to September 16.
“I thought I had a decent chance this year of getting it approved,” Brown said. “But, I guess they have some sort of issue with fitting into players’ travel schedules and stuff like that. Roger said that maybe I could go to the Pro Bowl in Hawaii in February, but I am pretty sure I heard him laughing when he said it. I asked him if he was laughing, though, and he said he was just on the bus – which is a little weird, ’cause I called his office line.”
Brown, who rushed for 175 yards in the Titans’ season opening 13-10 win, has applied for this sort of change before and has never been successful.
“I’m going to keep trying, though,” Brown said. “Moving the Pro Bowl is a lifelong dream.”
