Fred Taylor incensed over rotoworld ranking

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.–Fred Taylor broke a laptop computer in the jaguars »”>Jacksonville Jaguars‘ locker room when he was informed of his low placement in Rotoworld’s annual Tiers of Heaven draft preview.

“Fifth tier!?! Fifth tier?!? Are you kidding me?” an incredulous Taylor was seen screaming while mercilessly shaking his laptop. Taylor, who then threw his computer on the ground, later calmed down, and explained, “Look, I’m probably not a first tier back this year. If you’ve got a top five pick, and Gore is still on the board, you have to take him. But I’m second tier for sure. I had more rushing yards than Reggie Bush, and more receiving yards than Shaun Alexander.”

Taylor would not comment on the fact that Maurice Jones-Drew was ranked as a fourth tier back, except to say, “Disgusting. Rosenthal must have it out for me.”

Indeed, Taylor has indicated many times in the past that he believes that Greg Rosenthal “has it out for him,” citing previous Tiers of Heaven articles where Taylor’s rank was not as high as it should have been.

“In one sense, I should probably be sending him a thank you card,” Taylor said. “I mean, every time he ranks me lower, it allows me to draft myself in the first round more easily. This year I’m not picking until 10th in the first round; hopefully I’m still on the board.”

Nevertheless, Taylor announced to SSNN that he is unfolding “Operation Double-R” this season, which is short for Operation Reprogram Rosenthal. So far, the operation – which is in its infancy – has mainly consisted of a detailed spreadsheet that demonstrates Taylor’s viability vis a vis other backs in the league, and a sheaf of autographed Fred Taylor pictures. “There’ll be a fruit basket in there too,” Taylor said. “Operation Double-R is an all-out assault. Not dissimilar to Fred Taylor in an NFL game.”
