SOUTHERN PINES, NC — Tiger Woods daughter missed the cut at this weekend’s U.S. Open, firing a 77 and 79 in her first two rounds of her professional career. Sam Alexandra Woods was disappointed with her performance, telling a group of reporters that she “hit her irons well but just could not sink a [freaking] putt.” Her father, who is getting ready to play at his own golf tournament, was obviously disappointed in the week-old child’s performance, but didn’t go into too much detail. “Look, Sam has a lot of growing up to do on the tour,” Woods said. “It’s an honor to play in the U.S. Open at all. But at some point, that honor stops, and it becomes about performance – the bottom line.” Sam Woods will reportedly play a number of tournaments this year, and is hoping to notch “at least one major” before her first birthday next summer. “I’ve got a lot of work to do,” the younger Woods said. “But nothing is impossible.”
