Selig undecided on All-Star attendance

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Despite the fact that All-Star festivities are set to kick off 8 PM ET this evening, MLB Commissioner Bud Selig has yet to decide whether he will attend the game and surrounding hoopla at AT&T Park. The controversy over Selig’s decision began when he expressed doubts over the legitimacy of the voting process. “Look, as the commissioner I’m not sure I want to tacitly support the fan voting by showing up at this thing,” Selig told SSNN in an exclusive interview. “I really question what’s going through these fans’ heads when they vote for I-Rod over Victor Martinez, and they really screwed the pooch on the NL outfield - Bonds and Griffey over Lee and Holliday? This is not a lifetime achievement award, people!” Sources close to Selig say the commish is likely to delay his decision until the absolute last moment, hoping that bad traffic and a scheduled stop in San Francisco’s Castro neighborhood to “bring the game to a new audience” make it virtually impossible for him to arrive on-time.
