Cuban no longer interested in buying Cubs
CHICAGO, IL — A really fun afternoon ended poorly for Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, and has left fans of the Chicago Cubs stunned and depressed. Cuban, a billionaire, applied to buy the Cubs from the team’s current owner, the Tribune Corporation, last week. In celebration, Cuban went to Wrigley for a Cubs game – to “meet the faithful.” However, unfortunately, after spending an entire afternoon at Wrigley, Cuban sadly announced that he was no longer rich enough to purchase the Cubs. “It’s not that I’m broke,” Cuban said. “I still have some money left. But going to that place every day for a year? Are you kidding me? I might as well move into Disneyland.” Cuban’s purchases at the Cubs game reportedly included four scalped tickets at $200 each, “about” 20 beers at $8 each, and one giant foam finger (priceless).
