Ferry blames James

CLEVELAND, OH — After taking some time to digest his team’s disappointing performance in the NBA Finals, Cleveland Cavaliers GM Danny Ferry talked today about what they need to do to get over the championship hump. “Obviously the problem is LeBron James. He doesn’t make every one of his shots, and as such I’m not sure he fits our current plan,” Ferry told a gathering of fans and media at his season wrap-up press conference. “We are planning on trying to trade him, possibly for someone slow who doesn’t shoot particularly well… somebody like the rest of our team. I don’t want to nitpick at this point, but… I mean, look at the guy – he can’t even beat a triple team consistently! Sure, sometimes he does, but what’s the point of having a guy like that?” When asked how he planned to fill the void left by LeBron’s imminent departure, Ferry had an answer prepared. “I’d rather have a guy like Smush Parker. Now THERE’S a great name!” Ferry then ended the press conference by saying “Smush” repeatedly and giggling.
