Williams files lawsuit

MIAMI, FL — Suspended NFL player Ricky Williams filed a lawsuit at the Dade County Courthouse early Friday morning citing those he feels are responsible for his off-the-field issues. The lawsuit contends that Williams’ chronic marijuana abuse was no fault of his own, and was instead caused by the 36 individuals named in the court documents. “I’m here today to stand up and fight for Ricky and the long list of wrongs that have been perpetrated against him,” lawyer Joseph Finkelstein said outside the courthouse. “It’s not his fault that people would choose to sell him marijuana despite the fact they know the kind of impact it could have on his life. The money won’t bring Ricky back to the NFL, but we hope this will make everyone realize he had nothing to do with the suspension given to him by the league.” The lawsuit lists 12 of Ricky’s former drug dealers, the Phillies Blunts Corporation, Graffix water-pipes and the Miami Dolphins as some of the defendants. The case is expected to go to trial somewhere around April 20 of next year.
