EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ — The NBA Playoffs have added a new twist to fan participation this year by handing out home team colored t-shirts to everyone at the game. With a sea of same-colored supporters, teams like the Golden State Warriors have created an atmosphere that surely intimidated their opponents.
The New Jersey Nets decided to follow suit and ordered over 20,000 red t-shirts for tonight’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The shirts arrived Sunday afternoon, but to the dismay of the Nets’ front office, the shirts were neon pink with talk show host Rosie O’Donnell’s face – rather than the Nets’ logo – on the front.
“Obviously we’re disappointed, but there’s not much we can do about it,” Nets President Rod Thorn said. “We got the shirts that were meant for All Aboard! Rosie’s Family Cruise 2007, and they got ours. It’s unfortunate, but we’ve decided to go ahead as planned – make scrambled eggs, so to speak. No matter who’s on the front of the shirts, the Cavs will still have to deal with 20,000 neon-pink fans. I’d say we still have an advantage.”
SSNN was able to snag one of the t-shirts from a Nets employee and were shocked to see O’Donnell decked out in patent leather lingerie, complete with garters and stockings. As it turns out, the image is an old promo picture from O’Donnell’s 1994 movie Exit to Eden. Thorn neglected to mention the unusual photo, but seemingly feels it is appropriate as a giveaway to fans.

It’s going to be tough for this sport to sweep any nations, but it’s still pretty frickin’ cool!
