Greek gods protesting baseball season

MOUNT OLYMPUS, GREECE — A group of ancient Greek gods announced Saturday that they are protesting the 2007 Major League Baseball season. The gods explained that they are the reason behind the season’s tumultuous weather thus far, and that they do not plan on stopping until Barry Bonds gives up his quest to become the all-time home run king. “I became the king of gods without any performance enhancers,” said the group’s leader, Zeus. “This man you call Bonds must not become the king of home runs through the use of illegal drugs.” Zeus said that he the weather-related cancellations of games in Cleveland and Chicago is a warning to MLB. In addition to being the king of gods, Zeus told SSNN that he has the final say in weather patterns the world over. “And if Bonds insists on continuing his mission to become king, I will take him on personally,” said Zeus, who then ripped off his shirt and began flexing for the room. “Watcha gonna do, brother – when Zeusamania brings unheard of cancellations to your 2007 season?!”
