McRoberts looks good to NBA

DURHAM, NC — Duke star forward Josh McRoberts announced Thursday his intention to forgo the remainder of his college career and enter the NBA. The 6-10 sophomore was impressive at times this year, averaging a middling 13 points per contest. Still, scouts around the NBA seem to be holding him in rather high regard. “Look, everyone needs a goofy-looking white guy that likes to hustle up and down the court. I don’t hear anyone complaining about the play of Brian Scalabrine and Brian Cardinal,” one anonymous scout said. “Fans like to cheer for these guys, because they know they’re really not good enough to be in the league.” McRoberts scored a career-high 22 points in his final game for Duke – a loss to Virginia Commonwealth in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. “This guy played his best game against a team that was good enough to garner an eleven seed in the tournament. Not too many guys would do that,” Duke Coach Mike Krzyzewski said. Though the draft is not for a couple of months, McRoberts says he’s ready to prove to everyone that he can be the athletically-challenged white guy every team covets.
