Regular def rendered ‘useless’ to Evanston native
EVANSTON, IL — Local man Jason Rogers, who recently spent two weeks pet-sitting at the condominium of a wealthy friend, is now virtually unable to watch regular-definition television. “After living with a 64-inch plasma HD TV for two weeks, my 17″ Sony is basically useless. I saw the first half of the Super Bowl and it felt like I was watching somebody play Techmo Bowl,” Rogers told friends after moving back into the basement of his mother’s suburban home. “Plus, the built-in VCR eats tapes.” Sources close to Rogers, an aspiring professional eater, say he’s wanted Hi-Def for some time, but had never been regularly exposed to the technology until last month. Though his efforts at watching sports on his home TV have all failed, he reportedly did make it through six full hours of My Sweet Sixteen re-runs.
