Pavano at camp for HD programming

TAMPA, FL — Carl Pavano reported to the Yankees spring training complex on Tuesday, but apparently has no plans of pitching anytime soon. “No, I’m not ready to pitch. God no,” Pavano told reporters. “My cable service in upstate New York won’t give me HD service, and it’s killing me. The locker room here is pretty comfortable, and they get all the channels. The TV is smaller than the one in my media room, but at least it’s a clear picture.” GM Brian Cashman issued a statement saying he was pleasantly surprised Pavano showed up at all and hopes to “take baby steps toward Carl participating in team activities and eventually throwing a baseball.”
