Barkley to be stripped of race victory
LAS VEGAS, NV — Charles Barkley’s victory in his All-Star Saturday race with referee Dick Bavetta is now being disputed. NBA officials found a foreign substance in Barkley’s engine and said he may have been using an illegal restrictor plate. Sir Charles took the news fairly well, as he had bet $10,000 against himself at favorable odds. Bavetta was unavailable for comment, as he was busy doing whatever it is that old people do. [Ed.
