TUCSON, AZ — Randy Johnson’s second stint as a starter for the Diamondbacks began much like his last relocation: with a minor altercation involving a man with a camera. Unfortunately for the Big Unit, Arizona resident Jim Janek was nothing more than a photo-seeking fan. “I just wanted to take a picture with Randy and my 11-year-old son Andy, but when I walked up to him with my camera he pushed me and told me to get out of his face,” Janek told reporters outside the D-Backs’ spring training facility. “I tried to explain that my son was a huge fan, but he said, ‘I don’t care who you are, get out of my face.’”Johnson refused to comment on the incident, but a locker room source told SSNN that he overheard the Unit telling teammates that he believed the Janeks were spying on him for a major expose in Tucson Weekly, a local tabloid newspaper. In fact, Jim works as a gardener and caretaker for the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum and was at the park solely by his son’s request.
