Arenas frustrated by “team-first approach”
WASHINGTON, D.C. — After starting in the NBA All-Star game for the first time, Gilbert Arenas has been frustrated since his return to the Washington Wizards. “To tell you the truth, I really prefer the All-Star game to the regular season. The team-first approach we’re going with now isn’t really a lot of fun,” Arenas told reporters after the Wiz beat Minnesota 112-100. “Sure, I had 38 points tonight, but I had to do all sorts of other crap just for Coach Jordan to keep me on the floor. I passed, I rebounded, I even played defense. I didn’t have to do any of that on Sunday.” Agent Zero then listed several other reasons he would choose to play exhibition contests over regular-season games, including “Vegas, baby. Vegas.” When asked to comment on his star’s attitude, coach Eddie Jordan would only say he’s excited for Antawn Jamison’s return to action, which should come within the month.
