Taylor’s hamstring still hurt; questionable for BCS Championship viewing

JACKSONVILLE, FL — Still nursing a hamstring injury sustained late in the season, Fred Taylor is questionable to watch tonight’s game between the Ohio State Buckeyes and his alma mater, the Florida Gators.

“There is still some discomfort, no doubt,” Taylor said in an interview this weekend. “But I’m going to see how it feels on Monday, and talk to the docs, and if they say I can go, I’m gonna give it a shot. This is a big game.”

Indeed, Taylor knows a little something about big games for the Gators, having rushed for two touchdowns in Florida’s national title win over Florida State 11 years ago.

“Look, I want to watch,” Taylor explained. “I realize how important this game is. But you can’t rush these things. You can’t heal a hammy overnight, and I am not sure I want to risk my career on this game, national championship or not.”

Taylor did explain that he’s had this date circled on his calendar for some time, pretty much since the game was announced in early December. He even searched on the Internet to find an online nut store that would sell him a lot of buckeyes, which he plans on roasting and serving to his guests.

“I hope to be able to go tonight,” he said. “I really do.”

It’s going to be tough for this sport to sweep any nations, but it’s still pretty frickin’ cool!
